Aciphylla crosbysmithii Mt Burns Fiordland
Introduction:
This site is for those interested in the cultivation and ecology of New Zealand alpine plants. I decided to make this website to introduce the fascinating plants that grow in the mountains of New Zealand especially those from the South Island.
My name is Ross and I live in Dunedin, New Zealand. Dunedin is a small city near the bottom of the East Coast of the South Island.
Im interested in most plants but what interests me most are plants growing in extreme environments. Apart from alpine plants I also grow carnivorous plants.
I have been cultivating New Zealand alpine plants for more than ten years.
In 2005 I won the Alpine Garden Society (UK) Sir William and Lady Lawrence Award for contributions to the cultivation and knowledge of alpine plants.
